I love the "Covenant" idea. I think many people feel lonely because they are not talking and reaching out enough because American society says to shut up and be an individual. Don't question authority. It's a norm that prevents community and in turn fuels isolation.

I love that too. That was a huge moment for me in this conversation.

Racism is always bubbling under the surface most of the time. The racism can stay very quiet for an extremely time but it's always there. It's extremely easy to scape goat something that is not like you. I always find it horrible when a judge or a police officer said "Oh that victim or defendant reminded me of my son/daughter." Really!? What about the people that don't remind you of your son or daughter. You just showed your bias!

Ah! "Christians are feeling the loss of their dominant position in American cultural values." No wonder thee far right are reacting in the way they are. Like a brat when you take away their candy. That was beautifully summarized and extremely thought provoking. "Let's make terrible music and movies!" lol

When Evangelicals and far right speak of Christian values I'm appalled. When the religious right back figures such as Trump it becomes glaringly obvious what these types of Christians really want. They are not interested in basic Christian values for one second. We are an oligarchy.

"People just want to be left alone. Limited government based on security." Why is that so hard?

I love the story of King Henry II and Archbishop Becket. King Henry even hated the Christian strong hold on his Kingdom in 1162! King Henry II thought he had control of that mother fucking bishop and tried to control Beckett. King Henry II lost his fucking mind when Becket decided to side with the church after Henry gave him the seat.
